As our auction starts to come to a close, you'll receive an e-mail by Tuesday, July 19th if you have won the bid on a particular item. It is during this e-mail interaction we will discuss how you'd like to pay (by check or online payment).
It's all about the money, baby!
Please note: In past years, we had requests from winners to have their money go towards a particular walkers account. While we do our best to match people we know with their friends and family, sometimes we miss people...it isn't on purpose, it just happens.
Therefore, if you are asked to make a donation to a walker who isn't your family member or friend we ask that you please not ask to have your donation amount "applied" to the person you know.
The reason? By the time you're notified that you've won and who's account your money will be benefit--each of the walkers have already been notified regarding how much they will have deposited in their accounts and by whom. Making a switch would require us to look over the list again, find someone with a similar donation amount, notify the walker about the change, notify the other winning bidder about the change, and so on and so on....
In short....it's a logistical mess.
We will do our best to pair up winning bidders with the walkers they know. But should we not be able to do that, we ask that you please have mercy on us and understand it's not personal.
Think of it this way...the money goes to the same place, so even though it isn't in your friend or family member's account, it does benefit the team. That's what matters.
